Quando gli YES hanno iniziato a abbozzare le prime idee per quello che sarebbe poi diventato lalbum Aurora il processo era informale ed esplorativo. All'inizio non c'era un concetto prestabilito ma solo una raccolta di frammenti musicali che poco a poco si sono uniti e hanno preso forma. Tra questi primi abbozzi c'era un brano intitolato Aurora e ben presto e' diventato chiaro che quel nome aveva un certo significato.
